Ghost-Hunting at The Wren's Nest

The Southeastern Institute of Paranormal Research invites you to a different sort of Halloween experience. For six nights in September and October, paranormal investigators will lead ghost-hunting sessions at the Wren’s Nest, Georgia’s oldest house museum — and arguably its spookiest.

More than 200 people visited the Nest last year for paranormal investigations. We can’t do in-person sessions this year, but we can conduct them online, live-streaming from the picturesque Queen Anne Victorian house where author Joel Chandler Harris and his family lived from 1881 to 1908. A team of professional paranormal investigators will lead interactive explorations in which you’ll learn about the technical tools of the ghost-hunting trade and find out about the Harrises and others who lived and worked in the house.

We'll explore the Wren's Nest room by room, moving through the parlor, the family room, and the bedrooms (including the one where Harris died), before we venture into the creepy basement. You’ll be free to chime in, ask questions, or simply watch the investigation unfold. Once the sessions have concluded, our team will analyze the video and audio data, compile any paranormal experiences, and report back to participants.

The Wren’s Nest never disappoints. Ectoplasmic apparitions wander the rooms, shadows linger in the corners, strange noises emit from the walls. Disembodied voices are heard on audio recordings, sometimes answering questions or calling people by name, while objects have been known to teleport from one location to another. We never know what we’ll find. Come join us as we discover the secrets of this haunting landmark.
