The Scoville Hotel
The Scoville Hotel is a three story building that was originally built for Dabney H. Scoville in 1905. The Hotel is located on Mitchell Street in an area known as “hotel row”. The Scoville operated as a hotel until 2001. Since then, it has been used for film projects such as the Rolling Stones video “Rain Fall Down” and various movies. The Walking Dead has filmed scenes just outside the Hotel doors.
On this particular day SIPR was hosting another team at the Scoville.
Two SIPR members were seated in the lobby area awaiting the arrival of the other team.
The hotel was dark as there was no electricity in the building.
The front door began to open and close on command.
One SIPR member filmed the phenomenon on her cell phone.
It is important to note that the front door has no door handle. To close the heavy door, we would need to insert the key into the deadbolt lock and pull. There was no
one on the sidewalk outside and the vibration of three large firetrucks
earlier did not cause the door to swing open or closed.
